River Fly-Fishing for Grayling; Brown & Rainbow Trout

Teise Anglers & Conservation Society

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced fly-fisher, if you are interested in fishing for Brown trout, Rainbow trout or Grayling in a river setting in Kent then consider the River Teise, a tributary of the Medway.

Teise Anglers & Conservation Society controls seven miles of Kent's picturesque River Teise, from Goudhurst, through Marden and on to Collier Street.

This stretch of the River Teise flows through farmland, mainly over Kentish clay but interspersed with stretches of rock and gravel. In addition there are some fast runs, together with a number of pools some of which are quite deep. The river changes its characteristics throughout its course, giving a variety of conditions to suit both the beginner and the more experienced fly-fisher. The club also maintains a small stocked reservoir near Marden.

The Teise holds native Brown trout and in addition there are regular stockings of Browns and Rainbows. The river also boasts its own natural head of Grayling.
